Introducing the Quebec City Conference - Thomson Reuters

This year the Quebec City Conference is partnering with Thomson Reuters to offer the Partner Connection program. This program is a series of targeted one-on-one meetings between “LPs” (i.e., institutional and strategic investors, sovereign wealth funds, family offices and funds of funds) and “GPs” (private equity and venture capital firms). The purpose is to further extend the community of constructive global partners created at the QCC.

A review of the institutional investors who have confirmed their attendance at this year’s QCC will demonstrate the opportunity that this Partner Connection program will afford private equity and venture capital firms that are chosen to participate. (Firms listed in attachment.)

The QCC-Thomson Reuters Partner Connection works as follows:

• Investors are interviewed to determine their interest in meeting PE and VC fund managers. A profile is developed of each such investor as to its preferences for investing in funds having certain characteristics such as particular investment objectives, investment strategy, fund size, and manager experience.
• PE and VC managers interested in the program complete a short questionnaire to indicate their profile for consideration .
• The PE and VC that are a match for the preferences of investors are invited to enroll in the Partner Connection. A limited number of PE and VC funds will be allowed to enter the program to maximize the value of participation. Fund managers may bring up to 3 fellow managers of their fund to Quebec.
• A series of 30-minute, one-on-one meetings between investors and managers are arranged over the 2-day event. Between meetings, managers are invited to attend the QCC.
• The Partner Connection includes complimentary chartered jet from Boston or New York, accommodation at the Chateau Frontenac, a Partner Connection dinner a distinguished local restaurant, and complimentary access to the QCC conference, in addition to the one-on-one meetings with investors.

The purpose of the questionnaire is to understand your fundraising objectives, so your team may be paired with the most relevant investors.

The meetings will take place on October 24 and 25 and will be 30 minutes each. Efforts will be made to minimize conflict with the QCC’s other programming and forums. There is a fee for participation for GPs. To discuss this fee, please reach out to Mark Cecil, contact information listed below.

Please note: If your firm is raising multiple funds, you will need to fill out a separate questionnaire for each fund you would like investors to consider.
