Now in its seventh year, the Quebec City Conference (QCC) is a private, invitation-only, not-for-profit annual meeting designed for leading international VC and PE firms, institutional and strategic investors, sovereign wealth funds and family investment offices, as well as for public policy makers, industry experts and leading academics supportive of this investment activity, in a format intended for high level exchanges and reflection.
In 2009, the QCC attracted nearly 400 participants from 21 countries in North America, Europe, Asia, Middle-East and South America. Service providers are not invited. No other conference of this kind exists anywhere else in the world. Additional information is available at www.QuebecCityConference.com.
Key to the success of the QCC is that its core funding is provided by the organizing investors who have committed to making the QCC a success and who invite other major global investors, including major family offices, to attend. This ensures that no service providers are needed to sponsor the QCC, thus allowing for a relaxed and collegial atmosphere of superb networking and discussion.
The Family Offices Forum (FOF) will be held on Monday, October 25 from 10 am. This invitation-only forum is for the most senior executives of major family offices. Speakers from Harvard University and Cambridge Advisers, to the CEO of Black Coral Capital and Nobel Laureate Michael Spence, amongst others, will lecture on topics of interest to family offices. There will also be opportunities for participants to network with other family offices, institutional investors and general partners.
We believe there is currently no independent platform exclusively dedicated to providing leaders of major family offices with the opportunity to hold high-level, direct and confidential discussions amongst themselves, and also with large institutional investors on the topics to be dealt with at the FOF.
FOF participants are also invited to participate in the balance of the QCC which takes place on the evening of October 25 and throughout the day on October 26. Of note, FOF participants are invited to The Institutional Investors Discussion Forum, where high level guests present global perspectives around significant issues of relevance to investors, followed by a round table discussion with participants. The 2010 Discussion Forum will be focused on opportunities in large emerging markets. Participants will include senior executives (Chairs, CEOs, and CIOs) of large globally active institutional investors.
There is no registration fee for either the FOF or QCC for those guests invited to attend the Family Offices Forum. Accommodation and travel are additional, although free access on chartered jets (70 seats) is offered to our guests transiting from Boston (Logan) and New York (Newark) for a limited time. The schedule is set to optimize time efficiency.
